This is a ‘let’s make it happen’ kind of place.

Wendy Chapple

Associate Professor of Management at Nottingham Business School

COMING HERE WAS LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR.

There is a real positive energy, an infectious, collective enthusiasm.

You can feel how proud people are to work at NTU. People support each other. It’s like being in an adventure playground, where work feels like fun and you’ve got all the resources, support and freedom you need to pursue your research interests, investigate new territory and check out different paths. It makes me feel valued. It makes me believe I can make a real difference to the outside world.

TELL US OF A FUTURE YOU’D LIKE TO CREATE AND WE’LL GIVE YOU THE RESOURCES TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

YOU’RE CERTAINLY GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES - AND ENCOURAGEMENT - TO EVOLVE AND GROW HERE.

I’d only been here a year and I was asked to get involved in Sustainable Futures at University level. To be given this opportunity and to present at board level to the Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice Chancellor really stretched and challenged me. I really hadn’t been given an opportunity (or the trust that came with it) like it before.

I’M NOT JUST ‘SURVIVING’ HERE, I’M FLOURISHING.

I’m able to go for funding, I get the support from the institution and I have a clear research strategy and a pathway to follow. It makes me feel I can make things happen.

This is a ‘let’s do it’ kind of place where I get to feel like a ‘can do it’ kind of girl. And that’s great.
